My daughter signed up to bring a trail mix recipe for her preschool class the other day and she wanted something with marshmallows and chocolate.  It sounded like a s’more to me, so we made this fun trail mix for her classmates!  We threw everything together in 10 minutes and it was one of the easiest snacks we have ever made for her class.  We added a handful to snack sized zip lock bags and it was a fun and easy treat for her to bring to school!

One of our favorite things as a family is sitting around a campfire and making s’mores.  This trail mix recipe is so simple and the perfect way to satisfy your sweet tooth and any s’mores cravings you may have! It is a perfect snack for camping and road trips with your family!

There are lots of variations I go through at the end of this post, so feel free to mix and match your favorite ingredients and make it your own.  This is now one of my kids’ favorite trail mix recipes.  I love the fluffy marshmallows and salty pretzel and chocolate combination, I know you will love this delicious snack mix too!

Ingredients

  • Mini Marshmallows
  • Teddy Grahams
  • Mini Twisted Pretzels
  • Chocolate Chips
Individual bowls of pretzels, chocolate chips, graham crackers and marshmallows sitting on the counter.

How to Make S’mores Trail Mix

Combine all of your ingredients together in a large bowl.  That’s it. I told you it was easy!

I would only make this 1-2 days in advance of when you want to eat it and make sure it is stored in an airtight container so the marshmallows don’t get stale. Also keep it at room temperature so you don’t have melted chocolate on your hands!

Variations

  • Instead of Teddy Grahams you could use golden grahams cereal, graham cracker cereal, rice cereal or broken up graham crackers
  • I ended up making an extra batch of this recipe and ran out of milk chocolate chips for the second batch, so I used a combination of dark chocolate chips and also Nestle’s peanut butter/milk chocolate chip combo.  It was delicious, I loved the added peanut butter flavor!
  • Use chocolate covered pretzels or yogurt covered pretzels instead of regular
  • Other additions: Mini peanut butter cups, chocolate bars cut up, puppy chow or muddy buddies
