Before you get started with these suncatchers, make a batch of these lucky charms rice krispie treats to add to your St. Patrick’s Day celebrations. We love making suncatcher crafts to celebrate different seasons and this shamrock suncatcher is a fun way to celebrate St. Paddy’s day with kids. It is also a great way for my preschooler to work on her scissor skills and fine motor skills!
Materials
- Construction paper
- Colored tissue paper
- Clear contact paper
- Shamrock template – Fill out the green form at the bottom of this post for the free printable template!
- Scissors
How to Make a Shamrock Suncatcher
First print out the shamrock template you can find at the bottom of the post.
Cut it out and trace the shamrock outline on a piece of green construction paper. Cut out the inside of the shamrock shape. Add a piece of contact paper to the construction paper.
Either use small squares of tissue paper that you or your child has cut or rip tissue paper to add to the shamrock.
Arrange the tissue paper squares on the sticky side of the contact paper in whatever design you would like. We used different shades of green to fill in our shamrock!
If desired you can add another piece of contact paper on the back of the shamrock to secure the tissue paper squares. Â
This will help your shamrock suncatcher stay together and last for future years if you would like to keep it!Â
