Sunflowers are my absolute favorite flower in the fall. There is something about their bright yellow colors and how they stand out among the changing leaves and plants in the garden that are nearing the end of the season. Â We have this paper plate sunflower on our radar to try and had so much fun making this handprint sunflower craft. I knew I wanted another simple fall craft for my kids to do and this sunflower template was a perfect fit!Â
I love this large sunflower template because there are so many ways to use it! It can be adapted to fit kids of all ages, my 4 year old preferred to color it and I love how he made the sunflower petals rainbow. It’s always fun to see how each child makes their own sunflower, it always seems to match their personality! 🙂 There are some ideas below on how to use this free template. How To Use This Free Printable Sunflower Craft Template
- ​Use crayons or markers and use it as a coloring page
- Cut out small tissue paper squares in yellow, blue, green and brown and use a glue stick to glue these on the template to create a bright tissue paper sunflower
- Glue on real sunflower seeds to create the middle of the flower for a fun variation
- ​Give your child a variety of craft supplies including glue sticks, tissue paper, pom-poms and glitter to allow them to do process art and create a masterpiece
