Free Insect Coloring Pages | Seek & Find Activity

If your kids are anything like mine, they are fascinated by all the tiny bugs crawling around outside, especially in the spring and summer! These insect coloring pages are really fun to color and include an extra twist: a seek and find game on each page! They are perfect for any bug lovers in your life.

These printable coloring pages are a great addition to an insect unit in a classroom, a fun summer activity for kids or just a way to add a little bug-themed fun in your week.

We love nature activities around here, so if you are looking for additional activities to pair with these coloring sheets you could create your own binoculars, print off this nature bingo and get outside on a sunny day for some additional nature play!

We had fun using bright colors on these insects coloring pages. My preschooler used his creativity when coloring the bugs (I mean have you ever seen a rainbow caterpillar 😉) and it was really fun to see his imagination come to life. Coloring is also a really simple way to work on fine motor skills with toddlers and preschoolers!

Fun Insect Facts For Kids

I love using play as a time to create learning opportunities. As your child colors you can share some fun facts about the amazing world of insects. National Geographic Kids has a great list of facts.

Some of my favorite fun bug facts include:

  • Fruit flies were the first living creature to be sent into space
  • Mosquitoes are attracted to smelly feet
  • Butterflies taste with their feet
  • Caterpillars have 12 eyes
  • Bees can recognize each other by the scent of their footprint
