This jingle bell craft with egg cartons is a fun and festive way to make homemade Christmas decorations! My kids love bringing theirs in the car and jingling along to Christmas songs. These little bells also make the cutest DIY holiday decor!

These adorable egg carton bells are a fun and festive recycled craft for kids. You can turn them into ornaments to hang on the Christmas tree or a door handle, or simply let your kids jingle them while singing holiday songs.
We always are on the lookout for fun Christmas crafts for older kids and this one was a hit (another great Christmas craft for older kids is this Christmas Ornament Suncatcher)! If you are doing this with younger children they may need some extra assistance with threading the needle and cutting out the egg cups but will love decorating their own little bell. We love having a little snack during our crafting afternoons and these Santa cookies are the perfect pair to this craft!
Materials Needed
- Cardboard Egg Carton
- Jingle Bells
- Paint or Paint Markers (we love using gold paint for a more festive look)
- Ribbon
- Scissors
- Tapestry Needle (for threading ribbon)
How To Make Your Egg Carton Bells
- Cut Out Your Bell Shape- The egg cup will form the bell’s body and you can trim the edges to create the classic bell silhouette.
- Decorate the Bell- This is the fun part! Use your favorite paints or paint markers to decorate your bell. Gold paint is a favorite of ours, it gives it a really shiny festive look.
- Add the Jingle Bell- Take your jingle bell and thread it onto a piece of ribbon.
- Create A Hole For Hanging- Using a tapestry needle, poke a small hold through the top of the egg carton bell. Thread the ribbon with the jingle bell on it through the hole and pull it tight.
- Tie & Hang- Tie a knot at the end of the ribbon to secure it in place. Hang your bell on the Christmas tree or wherever you want to add a little Christmas cheer.
