I’m not a big fan of scary things around Halloween, but these adorable little marshmallow monsters were so much fun to make with my kids. My older kids loved getting creative with their monsters and my preschooler was just excited that I was giving him full access to sprinkles. 🙂 When they were done with their monsters and we all had time to enjoy the creativity they used making their monsters we ate them up, it was such a fun treat!

With the holiday season approaching these adorable monster pops are a great idea for a fall classroom party or you can wrap them up in cellophane bags and give them to friends and neighbors. Or you can just do what we did and create your monster and then eat it!

Materials

How To Make Your Halloween Marshmallow Pops

Create your frosting colors with the frosting and food coloring (we used 2 drops of food coloring to about 3 Tbsp of frosting)

Put your lollipop stick into the bottom of each marshmallow and push until about half way through the marshmallow

Take a small butter knife to spread the frosting onto the marshmallow. If your frosting is thin enough you could also dip the marshmallow into it using the lollipop stick.

Add sprinkles and candy eyes to your monster (let your kids get creative with this, my boys decided to put the sprinkles on the top of the marshmallow so their monster had hair!)

Variations

You could use melted chocolate or colored candy melts instead of the frosting and food coloring

Use piping bags for your frosting or chocolate and create a funny monster face

Switch it up and use square marshmallows for fun Frankenstein marshmallow pops

Storage

To dry your Halloween monster marshmallow pops they need to be in something that keeps your marshmallows upright. A cake pop holder or even a piece of foam would work well. We recommended eating them on the day you create them, but in an air tight container they stay good for 1-2 days.
