Apple Stamping Pumpkin Craft With Free Printable
Looking for a fun fall craft for your preschooler? This apple stamping pumpkin craft is so simple and such a perfect craft to welcome the fall season!
We had so much fun doing this pumpkin apple stamp activity and creating our own pumpkin patch. We love going apple picking in the fall and this craft is a great way to use up apples that may not be good for eating or perhaps wind fall apples you get from an orchard. It is fun to see a child’s reaction to the thought of creating art with food instead of just eating it! These apple-stamped pumpkins are a fun way to teach kids about art mediums and fosters creativity.
If you are doing this craft with young toddlers it may be easier to stick a fork into the top part of the apple so they can easily dip the apple into the paint and then stamp it onto the paper. These apple print pumpkins are a great way to work on hand-eye coordination with little ones!
You can do this simple art project on the free printable template that is provided in this post, or on white paper or white cardstock as well. It is such a creative way to celebrate fall and makes for a really fun harvest time activity! We had fun eating apple slices while making our pumpkin patch.
Materials
- Pumpkin patch printable (linked towards the bottom of the post)
- Paper plate
- Washable paint (Orange, brown & green)
- Apple
- Paint brush
How To Make Your Apple Stamping Pumpkin Craft
Print off the pumpkin patch template linked below
Cut your apple in half
Put orange, green and brown paint on a paper plate (It may be helpful to do the orange paint on it’s own plate to avoid the brown and green paint mixing into it)
Dip your apple, with the inside of the apple face down into the paint, make sure there is enough paint on the paper to completely cover the flat side of the apple
Place the apple onto the printable template to create the pumpkin shape
Repeat until you have completed your pumpkin patch
Take a paint brush and add the brown stem to the top of the pumpkin
Use your finger to add a sweet little finger print leaf at the top
Variations
- Once the paint is dry you could use a glue stick to add googly eyes to make a pumpkin face
- You can draw jack-o-lantern faces onto the dry pumpkins with a black marker or black paint to make this into a simple halloween craft
- If you are looking for an apple activity you can just swap out the orange paint for red or green and you then can create your own little apple orchard with apple prints
