4th of July Fruit Kabobs

These red white and blue fruit kabobs are a a fun patriotic dessert for Memorial Day or the 4th of July!  They are easy to throw together for a 4th of July party and the cut out star shapes and mini marshmallows make this a fun snack for kids!

Along with these fun 4th of July fruit kabobs we also love this berry yogurt bark with star sprinkles as a fun treat to make to celebrate the 4th of July! They are both made with lots of fresh fruit and are a great healthy snack idea for kids that feel like a treat!

Key Ingredients

Watermelon, blueberries, strawberries, mini marshmallows, bamboo skewers and small star cookie cutters sitting on the counter.

  • Seedless Watermelon
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Bamboo Skewers
  • Star shaped cookie cutters 1-1.5 inches – I used these cookie cutters!

How to Make 4th of July Fruit Kabobs

Step One: Cut our your star shapes from slices of seedless watermelon and strawberries if you desire. You can also just use chunks of strawberry or watermelon if you don’t have a small cookie cutter.

Step Two: Alternate between the strawberries, mini marshmallows and blueberries to build your wooden skewer. I usually add one watermelon star in the middle and end with a star shaped watermelon on top.

Step Three: Repeat for however many fruit skewers you desire and enjoy!

Tips for Making Patriotic Fruit Kabobs

  • Make sure your watermelon slices are at least 1/2 inch thick so they stay on the wooden skewers
  • You can make these ahead of time and store in the refrigerator for a few hours before serving
  • Feel free to substitute the fruits for raspberries or mini marshmallows for apple pieces or banana

  • 1 pint Blueberries
  • 1 Seedless Watermelon
  • 1 pint Strawberries
  • 1 cup Mini Marshmallows

Instructions
 

  • Cut our your star shapes from slices of seedless watermelon and strawberries if you desire.
  • Alternate between the strawberries, mini marshmallows and blueberries to build you wooden skewer and end with a star shaped watermelon on top.
  • Repeat for however many fruit skewers you desire and enjoy!

Notes

Cut your watermelon slices thick enough (around 1/2 inch) so they don’t break off the skewer. 
Use mini skewers for an even more kid-friendly version!
