We loved making these flower suncatchers and they are so cute hanging up next to our butterfly suncatchers for some homemade spring decorations.

They are easy to make and my preschooler and elementary aged daughters loved making them. I love that they are an easy craft for preschoolers (with some help cutting), and also fun enough to capture the attention of older kids too.

How to Make a Flower Suncatcher

Step One: Print out the flower template linked towards the bottom of this post.

Step Two: Cut out the flower template and trace the outline on a piece of colored construction paper.  Cut out the inside of the flower shape with scissors or an exacto knife (we prefer an exacto knife, we recommend an adult do this step).

Step Three: Add a piece of contact paper to the construction paper.

Step Four: Cut up small squares of tissue paper and place them on the sticky side of the contact paper in whatever design they would like, overlapping tissue paper is encouraged to fill in all the gaps.

Step Five: If desired you can add another piece of contact paper on the back of the flower to secure the tissue paper squares. This will help your flower suncatcher stay together and last for future years for an easy spring decoration to put up year after year!

Finally, cut out the outline of the flower and hang on a window and enjoy your cute flower sun catchers!
