How to Make a Tulip Suncatcher

1. Print the tulip template and cut out

First, print the free tulip template found at the bottom of this post. Cut out the tulip and trace the outline onto a piece of construction paper. Next, carefully cut out the inside of the tulip shape so you are left with a tulip frame.

2. Add the contact paper

Cut a piece of clear contact paper slightly larger than the tulip frame. Peel off the backing and stick the tulip frame onto the sticky side of the contact paper. This will create the surface where your tissue paper will stick.

3. Cut and add tissue paper

Cut or tear small pieces of tissue paper in bright spring colors like pink, red, yellow, purple, and orange. Let kids stick the tissue paper pieces onto the contact paper inside the tulip frame.

4. Seal the suncatcher (optional)

If you want your tulip suncatcher to last longer, add another piece of contact paper over the top to seal in the tissue paper. Press gently so everything sticks together.
