Build A Snowman Craft (With Free Printable Template)
The seasons are starting to change and before we know it the cold weather will be here and snow will be on the ground. This fun build a snowman craft is a great way to welcome winter. It is a fun activity for young kids, but even my older kids enjoyed this one!

The winter season can get long, especially when kids are cooped up in the house. This holiday season make sure to put this snowman activity on your list of activities to pass the time with your kids. Its so much fun and a perfect activity for a snow day!
Supplies
- Printer
- Regular printer paper
- Pair of scissors
- Markers, colors or paint
- Glue stick
- Free printable snowman template (at the end of this post)
How To Use The Free Snowman Template
- Print out the free printable template that is linked later in this post
- Have your child color or paint their own snowman parts
- Use blunt tip scissors and allow your child to cut out the parts of the snowman. This is a great way for them to work on fine motor skills & hand-eye coordination.
- Use glue sticks to assemble the snowman
- Hang up the cute, unique, snowman for all to see on your refrigerator or bulletin board
Snowman Craft Ideas & Tips
- This is such a fun craft to use during a winter party at school
- If you are looking for some fun activities for your kids to do over winter break, here is a great option
- You can add in pom poms for kids to glue on the button spots for some extra fun
- If you are planning on using paint I would recommend printing the template on cardstock or thicker paper
- You can create this into a stick puppet by putting a craft stick on the back
- To extend the activity have your child glue their snowman onto construction paper and then decorate the scene behind the snowman

The template includes a paper that has 7 snowman pieces: the 3 snow balls creating the base, body and head, as well as the snowman’s top hat, arms & scarf. I have pre-applied the facial features (complete with carrot nose) and buttons on the body so that cutting out the pieces is more do-able for younger kids.
