Simple Felt Gingerbread Man Christmas Ornament

One of my favorite days of the Christmas season is when my family puts out our Christmas ornaments on our Christmas tree. I love how my kids light up when they see an ornament they have made and the excitement they get when they find the perfect spot on the tree for it (and I embrace all my ornaments being on the bottom ⅓ of the tree and clumped together 🙂) This simple felt gingerbread man ornament is so much fun to make and is such a sweet addition to your Christmas ornaments!

You likely have made gingerbread houses and gingerbread cookies for the holiday season. This adorable gingerbread ornament is such a great addition to your Christmas traditions!

Materials

Brown felt sheet (you could also use foam sheets)

Tacky glue or hot glue

Miscellaneous craft supplies (buttons, puffy paint, pom poms, whatever you can find…)

Ribbon

Black sharpie

Gingerbread man template (free printable at end of the post) or gingerbread man cookie cutter

How To Make Your Felt Gingerbread Man Ornament

First you need to either print off the free gingerbread man template below or use another outline such as a gingerbread man cookie cutter
Lay out your felt and outline the gingerbread man with a pencil
Cut your felt gingerbread man out
This is the fun part- Use ribbon, small buttons, puffy paints, felt and hot glue to decorate your gingerbread man- don’t forget to add accessories like a bow tie, scarf or hair bow!
Glue a hanging loop with ribbon at the top of the head on the back side so you can hang the ornament
