I love planning simple, quick clean up meals when we are camping. Although we love hot dogs over the fire, we were looking for some other kid friendly recipes to try. This campfire nachos recipe was one we tried a few years ago and it has been on our meal list for camping trips over and over because it is one our whole family loves. By using a foil pan clean up is so fast which means more fun for playing and spending time with your family.

We love letting everyone have their own foil pain to create their nacho masterpiece. Everyone gets to put their favorite toppings on their nachos and you are sure to have full kids (and parents :)) by the end of the meal! I mean, who doesn’t love warm, cheesy nachos?

It is so fun to make a meal over the campfire and enjoy the great outdoors together. If you don’t have a campfire you can also make these over a camp stove! I promise once you try these it will become one of your favorite camping recipes too!

How To Make Loaded Campfire Nachos

Take your foil pan and add a layer of tortilla chips

Add your toppings that you want warm (we like to leave the sour cream & salsa off until the end) and top with a layer of cheese

Cover your pan with a sheet of aluminum foil, make it loose so that the melted cheese doesn’t stick to the top of it

Place over hot coals for 2-5 minutes, checking the pan every few minutes- cook time can vary depending on how hot your fire is

Take off and remove top foil and add additional toppings

Enjoy!

Tips & Tricks On How To Make The Perfect Pan Of Nachos

We love letting everyone have their own mini aluminum foil pan. This allows everyone to make their own nacho masterpiece and is easier to cook.

Have someone monitoring the pan of nachos at all times, these cook fast and the chips can burn. We like to check our nachos every few minutes to make sure this doesn’t happen

Make sure you are cooking over a low flame with medium heat- if the fire is too hot the chips will burn before the cheese has time to melt.

We like to use flame resistant gloves to help get the pan out of the open flame.
